Steve Cohn was first elected to the City Council in 1994. He was re-elected to a record fifth term in June 2010. He was also elected by his peers as Vice Mayor in 1996 and 2008.
I believe we share a collective vision that Sacramento should be the most livable city in America, with excellent schools and libraries, abundant parks and open spaces, a dynamic Central City and business districts, vibrant arts, sports and cultural attractions, and safe, quality tree-lined neighborhoods within walking distance or a transit stop from everything you need. I believe that with hard work and careful planning we can achieve these goals for the City of Sacramento.Since joining the Council in 1994, I have worked to achieve this vision with a conservation ethic, using our limited public resources wisely and efficiently to improve quality of life in our neighborhoods, business districts, City and region. For a list of recent accomplishments, please see my 2013 State of the District Report.
I am always looking for new ways to improve our neighborhoods. Please do not hesitate to contact me or my staff if we can be of assistance to you in any way. I look forward to hearing from you.
