Improvements coming to Folsom Blvd. from 65th St. East nearly to the railroad underpass.


FolsomImprovements
This approximately ¼ mile stretch of road is a significant route for both traffic and pedestrians seeking to access Sac State, and businesses on both sides of Folsom Boulevard.
As you will see from the attached visual, the project includes the following:
  • New lighted cross-walking signal on Folsom at the Elvas/Folsom/69th Street intersection.
  • Improved right turn to Elvas from Folsom Blvd (heading west).
  • Curb, gutter and sidewalks on sections of road lacking this improvement.
  • Numerous medians throughout this section of road to improve traffic flow
  • Bike lanes throughout the project
  • On-street parking
  • Improved crosswalks at all intersections
  • Updated street markings
  • Asphalt Overlay

Cost of Homelessness Report
In June 2015, Councilmember Jeff Harris requested a study analyzing the financial resources that the City commits to issues related to homelessness. City staff have compiled information on one year’s worth of expenditures and found that the City spends more than $13.6 million annually to address homelessness. In the past year, the City has taken bold new steps to address homelessness in the city, and the results of those efforts are just starting to surface.
