Draft Environmental Impact Report

The City of Sacramento has released the downtown Entertainment and Sports Center & Related Development (P13-065) Draft Environmental Impact Report (EIR) for a 45-day public review and comment period. In compliance with Public Resources Code section 21168.6.6 (SB 743), the City hosted a public workshop to inform the public of the key analyses and conclusions of the Draft EIR for the Proposed Project. A public hearing before the City Planning and Design Commission will also be held to receive testimony on the Draft EIR. A transcript of the hearing will be included as an appendix to the Final EIR.

The Planning and Design Commission Hearing was held on Thursday, January 23, 2014 at 5:30 p.m. at Sacramento City Hall, City Council Chambers, located at 915 I Street, Sacramento, CA 95814.

The Notice of Availability, Draft EIR, and all documents relied upon in preparation of the Draft EIR may be reviewed at the Community Development Environmental Impact Reports page. The document is also available for review at the downtown Central Library, or you may view it at the Community Development Department at 300 Richards Boulevard, 3rd Floor Sacramento, California 95811 during public counter hours.

Development Application

The City of Sacramento received the development application package for the proposed downtown ESC on November 20, 2013. This application package represents a request by the project applicant for the necessary approvals to construct an arena and other surrounding land uses in the future. The application is a standard part of the development process to receive input from various City departments and agencies on the portions of the project that are relevant to them. Additionally, owners adjacent to the property, businesses and neighborhood associations will receive a notice and information about the application.

As part of the application process, the City will be doing its due-diligence to ensure that the project meets all zoning, site planning and design requirements for the proposed downtown arena site. The documents contained in the project application are listed below:
